3-Hydroxymethylglutaric acid (3-HMGA, also known as 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaric acid, β-hydroxy-β-methylglutaric acid, and Meglutol) is a crucial organic acid widely present in organisms, especially in mammalian metabolism.
