Lipidomics MALDI Imaging Service
MALDI-IMS is a powerful tool for examining the distribution of lipids in tissues. As an ion source, MALDI is particularly well-suited for thin tissue sections and is extensively employed for analysis of tissue samples. The benefits of MALDI-IMS include: 1) Simplified extraction steps; 2) Reduced sample loss; 3) Omission of complex deduction processes; 4) Provision of detailed spatial organization and distribution data.
MALDI enables the imaging of a vast array of endogenous lipids. For most of endogenous lipids, mass spectrometry imaging remains the sole method for analyzing their spatial distribution. The critical role of lipidomics in exploring developmental or pathological processes in tissue sections makes MALDI imaging an invaluable tool for biomarker discovery.

MtoZ Biolabs provides rapid, reliable, and cost-effective lipidomics MALDI imaging services capable of detecting thousands of lipids. The results yield histological maps of lipid biomolecules, pinpointed and characterized by their mass-to-charge ratios (m/z). Imaging data can be normalized to total ion current to quantify lipid abundance, and are also suitable for statistical analysis.
