    16α-Hydroxy Estrone Analysis Service

16α-Hydroxy estrone is a steroid compound with an aromatic ring structure and is a hydroxylated derivative of estrone (E1) at the 16th carbon position. Its structure contains a phenolic hydroxyl group (-OH) and a hydroxyl group at the 16th position, giving it high polarity and biological activity. 16α-Hydroxy estrone has strong estrogenic activity and is more potent than estrone. It can bind to estrogen receptors (ERα and ERβ), thereby exerting its hormonal effects. Its high estrogenic activity makes it play an important role in regulating the functions of the female reproductive system, skeletal system, and cardiovascular system.

Due to its significant estrogen-promoting effects, 16α-hydroxy estrone may promote cell proliferation and differentiation in specific tissues, such as breast, endometrial, and prostate tissues. Monitoring the levels of 16α-hydroxy estrone in the body may serve as a potential biomarker for certain hormone-related diseases, such as breast cancer and endometrial cancer. Measuring its concentration in urine or blood can help in early diagnosis and risk assessment. Studying the metabolic pathways and regulatory mechanisms of 16α-hydroxy estrone can provide insights into the metabolism of estrogens and their changes under physiological and pathological conditions, thereby offering new strategies for the intervention of metabolic diseases.
