    5-carboxycytidine Analysis Service

5-carboxycytidine is a modification of cytidine, a constituent of nucleic acids, predominantly found in eukaryotic organisms. Structurally, it is distinguished from cytidine by the presence of a carboxyl group on the fifth carbon atom, hence the name 5-carboxycytidine. 5-carboxycytidine is one of the oxidation products of 5-methylcytosine (5mC), produced via the ten-eleven translocation (TET) family of enzymes. It acts as an intermediate in the demethylation process of DNA, critical for epigenetic regulation of gene expression, cellular development, and differentiation, as well as tumorigenesis.

The study of 5-carboxycytidine is of paramount importance, given its role in the demethylation process and its potential implications in various diseases, including cancer. The ability to accurately quantitate 5-carboxycytidine in biological samples, therefore, provides a robust tool for research in epigenetic regulation and disease pathologies.

At MtoZ Biolabs, we offer a comprehensive 5-carboxycytidine analysis service, utilizing advanced ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS), to provide accurate quantitation and profiling of 5-carboxycytidine.
