Enterodiol Analysis Service
- Qualitative analysis of the metabolites of enterodiol
- Quantitative analysis of enterodiol content
- Providing grounds for enhancement
Enterodiol is a phytoestrogen (also known as a plant estrogen) that belongs to the lignan class of compounds. It is produced by gut microbiota through the metabolism of plant precursors such as secoisolariciresinol diglucoside (SDG) or matairesinol. Enterodiol exhibits weak estrogen-like activity, meaning it can bind to estrogen receptors and partially mimic the actions of endogenous estrogens. This activity suggests that enterodiol may have potential health benefits in regulating hormone levels, protecting cardiovascular health, preventing osteoporosis, and alleviating postmenopausal symptoms. Additionally, enterodiol has been shown to possess biological activities such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer properties. The detection of enterodiol is typically carried out using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) or gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) techniques. These methods allow for the accurate quantification of enterodiol in complex biological samples, such as blood, urine, or feces. The sensitivity and specificity of these analytical techniques make them powerful tools for studying enterodiol metabolism and function.
