Glycosylated Hexosylceramides Analysis Service
Sphingolipids are fundamental structural components of cell membranes, forming lipid rafts by combining with other components. Sphingolipids are involved in regulating biological processes such as cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis. Ceramide is the central hub of the sphingolipid pathway, including sphingomyelin, glucosylceramide, and galactosylceramide, and is mainly divided into hexosylceramides (HexCer), lactosylceramides (LacCer), sphingosine (Sph), dihydrosphingosine (DhSph), and dihydroceramide (DhCer).
The levels of HexCer vary under different physiological, pathological, and disease conditions. Studies have shown that HexCer levels change during brain aging. In addition, HexCer-derived sphingolipids are increased in the cerebrospinal fluid of patients with multiple sclerosis. Plasma HexCer has also been found to be significantly regulated in chronic hepatitis C, making it a good biomarker for this disease.
MtoZ Biolabs provides reliable, fast, and cost-effective HexCer analysis services based on a highly stable, reproducible, and highly sensitive system for separation, characterization, identification, and quantitative analysis, combined with LC-MS/MS.
