    Indole-3-lactic Acid Analysis Service

Indole-3-lactic acid (ILA) is a significant metabolite within the tryptophan metabolism pathway, characterized by its indole ring structure conjugated to a lactic acid moiety. This compound is produced by various microorganisms, including lactic acid bacteria such as Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium species, as well as by plants and animals. ILA has garnered considerable interest due to its diverse biological activities, including its roles in modulating immune responses, maintaining gut health, and exerting antimicrobial effects. In the human gut, ILA contributes to the balance of the microbiome and interacts with the host immune system, influencing conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), colorectal cancer (CRC), and even neurological disorders like autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Recent research has highlighted the multifaceted roles of ILA across different biological systems. In plants, ILA is involved in growth regulation and stress responses. In humans, its impact on the gut-brain axis and immune modulation has been increasingly recognized, with studies showing that ILA can inhibit pathogenic bacterial growth and reduce inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract. These findings suggest that ILA plays a crucial role in maintaining homeostasis within complex biological environments, making it a valuable target for both basic and applied research.

The importance of ILA research extends to various fields, including microbiology, immunology, and metabolomics. Understanding the pathways and mechanisms through which ILA exerts its effects can lead to the development of new therapeutic strategies for managing gut-related diseases, enhancing crop resilience in agriculture, and exploring novel probiotic treatments for improving human health. Given its broad implications, precise and sensitive analysis of ILA is essential for advancing research and clinical applications.
