    TMAO Quantitative Analysis Service

Trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO) is formed by the oxidation of trimethylamine (TMA), which is produced by gut microbiota metabolism and further oxidized in the liver by flavin monooxygenases (FMOs). Precursors of TMAO include carnitine, betaine, and creatinine, primarily derived from foods such as red meat, poultry, eggs, and dairy products.

As research on gut microbiota progresses, scientists have identified strong associations between elevated levels of TMAO and related metabolites with a variety of diseases, including cardiovascular disease, myocardial infarction, stroke, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and cancer. Targeted quantitative analysis of TMAO and its metabolites offers valuable insights for disease diagnosis, prediction, etiological research, and therapeutic efficacy assessment.
