    2-Aminobutyric Acid Analysis Service

2-Aminobutyric acid is a non-protein amino acid with important metabolic functions in various organisms. It is a key intermediate in the glutathione metabolism pathway and plays a crucial role in regulating cellular antioxidant capacity, detoxification, and amino acid metabolism. As an antioxidant, 2-Aminobutyric acid helps maintain intracellular levels of reduced glutathione, protecting cells from oxidative stress damage. Additionally, 2-Aminobutyric acid metabolism is closely related to cystathionine synthesis, the methionine cycle, and the balance of S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) and S-adenosylhomocysteine (SAH).

Abnormal metabolism of 2-Aminobutyric acid is linked to various physiological processes and pathological conditions, such as neurodegenerative diseases, liver diseases, and oxidative stress-related disorders. Studies have shown that 2-Aminobutyric acid has protective effects in the nervous system, reducing oxidative stress damage to neurons. In the liver, 2-Aminobutyric acid is involved in glutathione synthesis, aiding in detoxification and maintaining liver health. Furthermore, 2-Aminobutyric acid plays a critical role in regulating the cellular redox balance, making it essential for studying oxidative stress and antioxidant defense mechanisms.
