    3-Hydroxytyramine Hydrochloride Analysis Service

3-Hydroxytyramine hydrochloride, more commonly known as dopamine hydrochloride, is a vital catecholamine neurotransmitter involved in a wide range of physiological processes. Structurally, 3-hydroxytyramine consists of a catechol group (a benzene ring with two hydroxyl groups) attached to an ethylamine chain. In its hydrochloride form, it is highly soluble, facilitating its use in various biochemical assays. As a key neurotransmitter, dopamine plays an essential role in the central nervous system, particularly in motor control, reward, and cognitive functions. Dopamine synthesis begins with the amino acid tyrosine, which is converted to L-DOPA by tyrosine hydroxylase, followed by the decarboxylation of L-DOPA to form dopamine.

3-hydroxytyramine hydrochloride is a biomarker in neurodegenerative and psychiatric conditions. Parkinson’s disease, for example, is characterized by the progressive degeneration of dopaminergic neurons, leading to dopamine deficiency. Investigating dopamine metabolism provides valuable insights into the pathophysiology of such diseases and aids in the development of targeted therapies. Additionally, dopamine research contributes to advancements in understanding addictive behaviors, cognitive dysfunction, and neurotoxicity related to excessive dopamine activity.
