    3-Indole Acetamide Analysis Service

3-Indole Acetamide (IAM) is an important intermediate in the biosynthesis of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA). IAM consists of an indole ring attached to an acetamide group, making it a key precursor in the tryptophan-dependent pathway of IAA biosynthesis. The metabolic conversion of tryptophan (Trp) to IAA involves several enzymatic steps, with IAM serving as a pivotal intermediate. The pathway begins with the conversion of Trp to IAM by the enzyme tryptophan monooxygenase. IAM is subsequently hydrolyzed by the enzyme indoleacetamide hydrolase to produce IAA. Additionally, IAM can be converted to indole-3-acetonitrile (IAN) through nitrile hydratase, which can also lead to the production of IAA via different pathways. These metabolic processes underline the importance of IAM in plant hormone biosynthesis and its regulatory roles in plant growth.
