Antibody Drug Microflow Imaging Particle Analysis

Antibody drugs are a kind of biological preparations that use the mechanism of the immune system to specifically recognize and bind to specific targets in the body. They are widely used in the treatment of various diseases, such as cancer, autoimmune diseases, and infectious diseases. Due to their importance in clinical treatment, it is crucial to ensure the quality, purity, activity, and safety of antibody drugs. Micro-Flow Imaging (MFI) technology plays a crucial role in this regard.

MFI is an advanced analytical technology that combines microfluidics and high-resolution imaging to detect and analyze particles in biopharmaceuticals (including antibody drugs) in real-time. These particles may come from the biological preparation itself (such as aggregates or precipitates), or they may be foreign microparticle contaminants. In the research and development, production, and quality control of antibody drugs, MFI is a key tool for assessing drug safety, purity, and stability.

The core principle of MFI is to capture the images of particles passing through a specially prepared sample carrier under flowing conditions using a high-speed camera. These particles pass through the narrow channel one by one, and the camera captures their high-resolution images. By analyzing these images, detailed information such as the size, shape, density, transparency, and quantity of the particles can be obtained. Compared with traditional optical or laser scattering technology, MFI provides more information about the morphology and texture of the particles.

      Application

      1. Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis of Particles

Detect impurities and particulate contaminants in products, such as protein aggregates, non-biological impurities, etc.

      2. Stability Studies

Evaluate the stability of the drug during storage by regularly analyzing the number and properties of particles in the sample.

      3. Formulation Development

In the early stages of drug development, it helps researchers to choose the best drug formulation to minimize protein aggregation and particle formation.

      4. Production Process Monitoring

Real-time monitoring of particles that may be produced during the production process helps to adjust production parameters in time to ensure the quality of the final product.
