    Butyric Acid Analysis Service

Butyric acid, also known as butanoic acid, is a short-chain fatty acid with four carbon atoms. It plays important roles in many physiological processes in humans and animals, including energy metabolism, immune regulation, and gut health. In recent years, butyric acid and its derivatives have been increasingly applied in medical and biological research, mainly because of their key roles in the gut microbiota community and host health.

      Services at MtoZ Biolabs

At MtoZ Biolabs, we offer a comprehensive butyric acid analysis platform, including technologies for the detection, quantification, and characterization of butyric acid and its derivatives. Our platform is based on liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS), a highly sensitive and specific analytical technique that can detect and quantify trace components in complex samples.

      Applications

      • Unordered list Disease diagnosis: By analyzing the levels of butyric acid and other short-chain fatty acids, it can help diagnose intestinal diseases, liver diseases, and other metabolic diseases.
      • Unordered list Microbiota research: Butyric acid is a major product of gut microbiota, and analysis of its levels can aid in the study of changes and functions of the microbiota community.
      • Unordered list Drug development: Butyric acid and its derivatives have been shown to possess various biological activities such as anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, and antioxidant, making them important targets for new drug development.
      • Unordered list Food and environmental monitoring: Butyric acid is an important component in many food and environmental samples, and analysis of its levels can aid in the assessment of food quality and environmental pollution.

      Sample Submission Requirements

      1. Sample Type

Butyric acid analysis can be performed on a variety of samples, including:

      a. Clinical samples: Such as blood, urine, feces, etc.

      b. Microbial cultures: Such as bacterial, yeast cultures, etc.

      c. Food and environmental samples: Such as water, soil, food, etc.

      2. Sample Storage

Samples should be stored under appropriate conditions to maintain the stability of butyric acid and other short-chain fatty acids. Typically, samples are stored at -20°C or -80°C to minimize degradation before analysis. Proper labeling and storage conditions should be followed to avoid sample confusion or degradation.
