    Capsanthin Analysis Service

Capsanthin is a natural red dye classified as a xanthophyll carotenoid, primarily found in red peppers such as bell peppers, New Mexico chiles, and cayenne peppers. It is also a component of paprika oleoresin and is present in some lily species. As a food coloring, it is designated with the E number E160c(i). Capsanthin stands out among carotenoids for its superior antioxidant capacity, attributed to its eleven conjugated double bonds, a conjugated keto group, and a cyclopentane ring.

Research indicates that capsanthin not only serves as a natural pigment in the food industry but also holds promise in health products and pharmaceuticals. It enhances food color and nutritional value, provides antioxidant benefits in health products, and shows potential as an active ingredient in new anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer drugs. Additionally, capsanthin may support eye health by helping to maintain healthy intraocular pressure. A clinical study on Wistar rats demonstrated that capsanthin could normalize intraocular pressure over 28 days, bringing it to levels comparable to control groups. Therefore, precise analysis of capsanthin's content and structure is essential.

MtoZ Biolabs offers Capsanthin Analysis Service using ultra-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS). This advanced method combines the separation capabilities of UPLC with the detection power of MS, ensuring high sensitivity and specificity in capsanthin detection.
