    Chlorophyll b Analysis Service

Chlorophyll b is an important photosynthetic pigment found in plants, algae, and certain bacteria. It plays a key role in photosynthesis, mainly in absorbing and converting light energy into chemical energy. The presence of chlorophyll b not only expands the range of light absorption but also helps to transfer energy to chlorophyll a, the central place of photosynthesis. Due to its significant role in plant growth and development, the determination of chlorophyll b content and activity is of great significance for understanding plant photosynthetic efficiency, physiological status, and environmental adaptability.

      Our Service

At MtoZ Biolabs, we provide comprehensive analysis services of chlorophyll b, including the identification, quantification, and characterization of chlorophyll b. Our analysis platform is based on liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS), a highly sensitive and specific analytical technique that can accurately detect and quantify chlorophyll b in complex samples.

      Sample Submission Requirements

      1. Sample type

Chlorophyll b analysis can be performed on various types of samples, including plant leaves, algae, certain bacteria, and water samples.

      2. Sample storage

Plant samples should be immediately frozen and stored at -80°C to avoid chlorophyll degradation caused by light and high temperature. Water samples should be stored at 4°C and sent for inspection within 24 hours.

      Applications

      • Plant physiological research: By measuring the content of chlorophyll b in plants under different conditions, we can understand the photosynthetic efficiency, physiological status, and environmental adaptability of plants.
      • Ecological environment monitoring: By measuring the content of chlorophyll b in water bodies, we can understand the nutritional status of the water body and the biomass of algae.
      • Pesticide and fertilizer R&D: By measuring the content of chlorophyll b in plants, we can evaluate the impact of pesticides and fertilizers on plant growth.
      • Food and drug testing: Chlorophyll b is an important additive in food and medicine, and its content determination is of great significance for product quality control and safety assessment.
