Cholic Acid 7 Sulfate Analysis Service
Cholic acid 7 sulfate (CA-7S) is a sulfated derivative of cholic acid, formed through the conjugation of a sulfate group to the 7th hydroxyl position of cholic acid in the liver and intestine. As an agonist of the Takeda G-protein receptor 5 (TGR5), CA-7S enhances TGR5 expression and stimulates GLP-1 secretion. Research indicates that CA-7S levels in feces increase in male mice fed diets supplemented with cholic acid or ursodeoxycholic acid, whereas female mice do not show such an increase. This differential response underscores CA-7S's role in bile acid metabolism and its potential implications for liver function, bile acid regulation, and gastrointestinal health. Accurate measurement of CA-7S is crucial for elucidating its function in health and disease.
