    Cyanidin Analysis Service

Cyanidin is a naturally occurring plant compound classified under anthocyanins, a type of polyphenolic compound. Its chemical formula is C15H11O6+, and its molecular structure includes a hydrogenated flavonoid core with multiple hydroxyl (OH) groups, which confer significant antioxidant properties. Cyanidin is predominantly found in red, purple, and blue fruits and vegetables such as blackberries, blueberries, cherries, grapes, red cabbage, and red apples. The metabolism of cyanidin in humans is complex, involving degradation and absorption in the gastrointestinal tract. In the stomach's acidic environment, it may undergo partial degradation before absorption in the small intestine. Once in the bloodstream, cyanidin is further metabolized in the liver into various metabolites, which are excreted through urine and bile. As a vital plant compound, cyanidin has attracted significant attention for its extensive health benefits and natural occurrence. Future research may unveil its potential in disease prevention and treatment, thereby enhancing its applications in nutrition and medicine.
