DLS (Dynamic Light Scattering) Analysis of Antibody Drugs

Antibody drugs are a class of drugs that treat diseases through artificially synthesized antibodies, such as monoclonal antibodies, artificially synthesized antibody fragments, immunotoxins, antibody drug conjugates, etc. They bind specifically with target molecules to achieve therapeutic purposes. Antibody drugs have shown significant therapeutic effects in many disease treatments, such as cancer, autoimmune diseases, inflammatory diseases, immune regulation, and ophthalmic diseases. In antibody drug research, the determination of protein particle size is of great importance for its stability assessment, protein interaction research, drug delivery and nanomedicine, and protein aggregation research.

Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), also known as photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS) or quasi-elastic light scattering (QELS), is one of the most commonly used analytical methods for determining the size and radius distribution of suspended bodies or particles in solution samples. In practical applications, DLS can be used to determine the size distribution of various particles, including proteins, polymers, etc. If the system is non-dispersive in size, the average effective diameter of the particles can be determined, because the measurement depends not only on the core size of the particles, but also on the size of the surface structure, the concentration of particles, and the type of ions in the medium.

DLS (Dynamic Light Scattering) analysis has many advantages: (1) Accurate, reliable and repeatable particle size analysis; (2) Simple sample preparation, even without sample preparation can directly analyze natural samples; (3) Simple setup and fully automated measurement; (4) Can measure sizes less than 1nm; (5) Can measure molecules with molecular weight <1000Da; (6) Low volume requirements. DLS (Dynamic Light Scattering) analysis has been widely used in the determination of antibody drug particle size.

MtoZ Biolabs provides customers with drug quality research services that comply with global drug administration regulations. We provide high-quality DLS (Dynamic Light Scattering) analysis of antibody drugs based on the existing testing platform, which can obtain important parameters such as molecular weight, gyration radius, translation diffusion constant.
