    Genkwanin Analysis Service

Genkwanin is a naturally occurring flavonoid found in plants such as Daphne genkwa Siebold & Zucc., which is known for its traditional medicinal uses. Genkwanin appears as a yellow crystalline substance, soluble in organic solvents such as pyridine, dimethyl sulfoxide, and alkaline solutions, slightly soluble in ethanol, acetone, and ethyl acetate, and nearly insoluble in chloroform, ether, benzene, carbon disulfide, and petroleum ether. The synthesis of genkwanin starts with phenylalanine. It involves the action of phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL) and cinnamate-4-hydroxylase (C4H), among other enzymes, ultimately leading to the formation of genkwanin.

Genkwanin has been shown to possess anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which can help in reducing inflammation and oxidative stress in the body. Clinically, genkwanin is being explored for its potential use in treating conditions such as arthritis, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer. Additionally, it is utilized in cosmetic formulations for its skin-soothing and anti-aging properties. Due to its diverse applications, developing analytical methods for detecting genkwanin in plant metabolites is crucial. MtoZ Biolabs offers simple, rapid, accurate, cost-effective, and highly automated analytical methods and equipment for analyzing genkwanin. High-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS) is a valuable tool in addressing some challenges associated with genkwanin analysis. Improved extraction and purification steps can also enhance the sensitivity of the analytical methods.
