    GSSG Analysis Service

Glutathione Disulfide, referred to as GSSG, is derived from Glutathione (GSH), a crucial antioxidant in animals, plants, fungi, and some bacteria and archaea. It works to prevent damage to cellular components caused by reactive oxygen species such as free radicals and peroxides. GSSG is the oxidized form of GSH and is a critical player in the body's defense against oxidative stress. The ratio of GSSG to GSH within cells is often used as an indicator of oxidative stress. Furthermore, GSSG plays a significant role in biological and physiological processes, including gene expression, protein synthesis, and cell signal transduction. Therefore, GSSG analysis is crucial in understanding cellular health and responses to stress, aging, and diseases such as cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and cardiovascular diseases. Measuring the levels of GSSG in biological samples can help in diagnosing these conditions and monitoring the efficacy of therapeutic interventions.
