    Homovanillic Acid Analysis Service

Homovanillic acid (HVA) is a major metabolite of dopamine metabolism, produced by the action of monoamine oxidase and catechol-O-methyltransferase. It is widely present in the urine and cerebrospinal fluid of humans and animals. As an important biomarker for nervous system function, measuring HVA levels is commonly used to assess central nervous system disorders such as Parkinson's disease and neuroblastoma. In psychiatry and neuroscience research, HVA levels are often used as markers of metabolic stress and are associated with dopamine levels in the brain. Studies have shown that the presence of HVA supports the diagnosis of neuroblastoma and malignant pheochromocytoma. Therefore, accurate quantitative and qualitative analysis of HVA is essential in clinical diagnostics, neuroscience research, and drug development.
