    ICP-MS Trace Element Detection Service

Trace elements such as arsenic, chromium, cadmium, copper, iron, mercury, nickel, lead, and molybdenum, although present in very small contents in organisms, are essential for the growth, development, and physiological functions of organisms. Despite their low content, the insufficient or excessive intake of these elements can have adverse effects on organisms. Copper, iron, and molybdenum are essential for life activities, but can be toxic beyond certain concentrations. Chromium, lead, and arsenic are known carcinogens, while mercury is harmful to the nervous system. Due to their bioactivity and potential toxicity, it is crucial to monitor and analyze the content of these elements in the environment and organisms.

Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) is an inorganic mass spectrometry technique that can simultaneously measure many elements by separating and detecting monoatomic ions based on their mass-to-charge (m/z) ratio. It is widely used for the identification and concentration measurement of elements in samples. ICP-MS can be used for qualitative, semi-quantitative, and quantitative analysis of one or more elements in samples, with a measurable mass range of 3-300 atomic units, a resolution less than 1 atomic unit, capable of measuring 90% of the elements on the periodic table. Its most detection limits are within the range of 0.1-10 μg/mL and effective measurement range spans six orders of magnitude, with standard deviation of 2%-4%. It is very suitable for simultaneous multi-element analysis with an element measurement time of 10 seconds.
