L-Theanine is an amino acid naturally found in tea leaves, known for its unique relaxation and stress-reducing effects. L-Theanine can cross the blood-brain barrier, affecting the central nervous system by regulating neurotransmitter release, such as dopamine and serotonin, thereby improving mood and cognitive function. In plants, L-Theanine is synthesized from glutamic acid and ethylamine through the catalysis of L-Theanine synthetase. Once ingested by humans, L-Theanine can be metabolized in the liver into ethylamine, glutamic acid, and other compounds, which play important roles in neural transmission and energy metabolism. L-Theanine also has potential antioxidant properties, enhances the immune system, and improves cardiovascular health. Accurate measurement of L-Theanine concentrations is crucial for studying its physiological and pharmacological effects and provides a scientific basis for the prevention and treatment of related diseases.
