    N-Acetylaspartate Analysis Service

N-Acetylaspartate (NAA) is a crucial neural metabolite primarily found in neurons and widely distributed throughout the brain. It is the second most abundant molecule in the brain after glutamate. NAA is located in neurons, oligodendrocytes, and myelin, and is synthesized in mitochondria from aspartate and acetyl-CoA. It plays a vital role in brain metabolism, neural signal transmission, and brain development, serving as a marker of neuronal health and facilitating metabolic cooperation between glial cells and neurons.

Changes in NAA levels are linked to various neurological disorders, including Alzheimer's disease, epilepsy, brain injury, schizophrenia, and multiple sclerosis. Precise analysis of NAA content and metabolism provides critical insights into its mechanisms in the nervous system, offering valuable data for the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of related diseases.

MtoZ Biolabs utilizes liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) to conduct detailed quantitative and qualitative analyses of NAA and its metabolites. This advanced method integrates LC's rapid separation capabilities with the high detection sensitivity of MS/MS, facilitating the precise measurement of NAA in complex biological matrices.
