    Protocatechualdehyde Analysis Service

Protocatechualdehyde is an organic compound widely found in nature, belonging to the class of phenolic aldehydes. Protocatechualdehyde can be extracted from various plants, such as olives, grapes, and certain medicinal herbs. It typically exists as a secondary metabolite in plants, particularly in the biosynthetic pathways of polyphenolic compounds. The structure of this compound consists of a benzene ring with two hydroxyl groups in the ortho position and an aldehyde group, which gives it significant biological activity and functional properties. In plants, it primarily functions as an antioxidant, scavenging free radicals and protecting cells from oxidative stress damage. Protocatechualdehyde also exhibits various pharmacological activities, such as antioxidant effects, anti-inflammatory effects, neuroprotective effects, and potential anticancer properties.
