Serum Metabolomics Service
Human blood, as an important fluid sample in metabolomics, is mainly divided into plasma and serum. Compared to plasma, serum does not contain fibrinogen, and its components are relatively simple with over 1000 kinds of endogenous small molecule metabolites, making it an important metabolomics fluid sample. Due to the variety and extensive range of polarities of small molecule metabolites in serum, including highly polar substances such as amino acids, glucose, and nucleosides, as well as low-polarity substances like lipids and sterols, the complexity of metabolite increases the difficulty of serum sample analysis. Therefore, similar to plasma, the preprocessing of serum is relatively complex.
MtoZ Biolabs uses mass spectrometers from Thermo's Q Exactive and AB's Q TOF 5600 to establish a platform for serum metabolomics research, adopting different sample processing schemes based on your experimental purposes to efficiently extract metabolites for analysis, while effectively answering your biological questions and improving the accuracy of metabolite identification and quantification. MtoZ Biolabs provides a one-stop service for serum metabolomics; you only need to clarify your experimental purpose and send your samples, and MtoZ Biolabs will handle all subsequent experiments.
Sample Submission Requirements
1. Sample Preservation
500 μL per sample (no less than 200 μL per sample), strictly avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. (Blood is collected in centrifuge tubes and left for 30 minutes. The blood is then centrifugated to collect the supernatant in another centrifuge tube. The new tube is centrifugated for 5 minutes at 8000 rpm, and the supernatant is collected into cryovials with 0.5 mL per vial and stored at -80°C)
