    Soybean Agglutinin (SBA) Analysis Service

Soybean agglutinin (SBA) is a type of lectin found in soybeans, known for its ability to bind specifically to N-acetyl-D-galactosamine and galactose residues on cell surfaces. This binding property allows SBA to interact with glycoproteins and glycolipids, making it a valuable tool in biochemical and cellular research. SBA has significant applications in studying cell-cell interactions, glycoprotein profiling, and cancer research due to its specific carbohydrate recognition capabilities.

Understanding the binding characteristics and specificity of SBA can aid in elucidating cellular communication mechanisms and glycosylation patterns in various biological systems. Investigating the biological effects of SBA, particularly its anti-nutritional properties in food science, can contribute to the development of soybean cultivars with reduced lectin content, improving their nutritional value and safety. SBA's role as a mitogen and its potential therapeutic applications in targeted drug delivery and cancer treatment underscore the importance of precise and thorough analysis.

At MtoZ Biolabs, our SBA analysis service is built on mass spectrometry, an analytical technique that ionizes chemical species and sorts the ions based on their mass-to-charge ratio. It provides quantitative analysis and detailed molecular information, allowing us to accurately identify and quantify the SBA in your samples.
