    Vitamins Quantitative Analysis Service

Vitamins are essential trace organic compounds that humans and animals need to consume through their diets to sustain normal physiological functions and are vital for human growth, metabolism, and development. Vitamins are divided into two categories based on their chemical structure and solubility: water-soluble vitamins and fat-soluble vitamins. Humans require 13 types of vitamins: four fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K) and nine water-soluble vitamins (eight B vitamins and vitamin C). Both deficiency and excessive intake of vitamins can lead to clinical diseases. Water-soluble vitamins easily dissolve in water and are generally excreted from the body readily, so the possibility of overconsumption is less likely. Fat-soluble vitamins are absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract with the aid of lipids (fats). Vitamins A and D can accumulate in the body, potentially leading to dangerous hypervitaminosis.

Precise measurement of vitamin content is crucial for managing food nutrition and ensuring safety. Furthermore, vitamin analysis is essential for studying the mechanisms of various human diseases and for drug development.

      Services at MtoZ Biolabs

At MtoZ Biolabs, our Vitamins Quantitative Analysis Service utilizes LC-MS/MS. The sample is first separated by LC based on the different physicochemical properties of the vitamins. Then, the separated vitamins are ionized and detected by MS/MS. The quantity of each vitamin is determined based on the relative intensity of its characteristic ions.
