    What Is Protein Resequencing

      Recombinant protein sequencing is a common technique in biotechnology, which involves the use of biotechnology to sequence proteins, to determine their amino acid sequences. This process typically involves two steps: first, the protein is cut into smaller fragments, and then these fragments are sequenced using mass spectrometry techniques.

       

      Sequencing recombinant proteins is to verify whether their amino acid sequences are consistent with the expected target sequences. This is crucial for ensuring the functionality and biological activity of the protein, as even minor sequence variations can lead to changes in the properties and activity of the protein.       Analysis Workflow

      1. Protein Extraction and Purification

      Although recombinant protein sequencing seems simple in theory, it faces many challenges in practice. Firstly, the process of protein purification may affect its structure and activity, so it needs to be handled with caution. Secondly, the digestion process might introduce errors, as not all proteins can be cut at the ideal sites by enzymes. Lastly, mass spectrometry analysis may be difficult for certain types of proteins (such as membrane proteins and large molecular proteins). Nevertheless, sequencing of recombinant proteins is an important technique, providing us with vital tools for studying protein structure and function.
