What is the Olink Analysis Panel?

The Olink analysis panel is a high-throughput, highly sensitive biomolecular analysis tool based on the innovative Proximity Extension Assay (PEA) technology. This technology enables the simultaneous analysis of hundreds to thousands of proteins in a single run. PEA uses two labeled oligonucleotide probes to detect target proteins. When the target protein is present, the probes bind together, forming an amplifiable template. PCR amplification allows for the detection of these probes, enabling quantitative analysis of the target proteins. The versatility and precision of the Olink analysis panel make it an invaluable tool in modern proteomics research.

Olink analysis panel offers several different panels tailored to diverse research needs:

      Disease-Focused Panels

These panels target specific diseases or biological processes, such as cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer, helping researchers understand disease mechanisms and identify potential biomarkers.

      Exploratory Panels

These panels are designed for broad proteomic exploration, including a wide variety of proteins. They are ideal for comprehensive proteomic analysis to identify new biomarkers or study protein interactions.

      Immuno-Oncology Panels

Specifically designed for immuno-oncology research, these panels help researchers study immune cells and their interactions with tumor cells within the tumor microenvironment. The precision of the Olink analysis panel makes it a powerful tool for these types of studies.

Olink also provides customizable services, such as Olink Target and Olink Flex, allowing users to create tailored panels for their specific research needs. The Olink analysis panel has revolutionized biomarker discovery, providing researchers with the ability to measure protein expression levels with high specificity and sensitivity.

The Olink panels are validated using EDTA plasma and serum samples but can also be used with other sample types, such as citrate plasma, heparin plasma, tissues, and cell lysates. This versatility makes the panels applicable to clinical research, drug development, and biomarker discovery. As a result, the Olink analysis panel is widely used in clinical and pharmaceutical applications, driving advances in precision medicine.

For data analysis, Olink uses its proprietary relative unit NPX (Normalized Protein eXpression) to represent protein expression levels. NPX is a log2-based unit, and normalization helps minimize batch-to-batch variation. This data allows for the detection of protein level changes across samples and the development of protein signatures. Olink analysis panel data provides a deeper understanding of biological processes and disease mechanisms, accelerating discovery and development in many areas.

As a leader in proteomics, Olink's technology is widely used in various fields. The Olink Explore product line, which offers high-throughput protein analysis services, has become a significant driver of the company's revenue and growth. With the ongoing development of biotechnology and biomedical research, proteomics continues to play an essential role in disease research, drug development, and biomarker discovery. Olink analysis panel's high-throughput, high-sensitivity, and high-specificity features ensure its growing importance in these fields.

The Olink analysis panel is an advanced biomolecular tool offering high throughput, sensitivity, and specificity. It supports various research needs and plays a critical role in clinical research, drug development, and biomarker discovery. With continuous technological advancements and expanding applications, Olink analysis panel are expected to deliver substantial value across multiple fields.
