Wogonoside is a flavonoid glycoside primarily found in the roots of Scutellaria baicalensis, a traditional medicinal plant. Wogonoside appears as a pale yellow crystalline powder, soluble in pyridine, methanol, and alkaline solutions, slightly soluble in ethanol, acetone, and ethyl acetate, and nearly insoluble in chloroform, ether, benzene, carbon disulfide, and petroleum ether. It is noted for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anticancer properties, helping to reduce inflammation, combat oxidative stress, and inhibit the growth of cancer cells.
